Combs
Quarter Horses, owned by Kent
and Mary Combs is located in
Kerens, Texas, 50 miles south of
Dallas. Combs Quarter Horses
mission is the breeding and
raising of Quarter Horses.
Kent and
Mary originally from Humble,
Texas moved to Kerens in 2001 to
start their horse business. Mary
began her career in 1972 in the
steel industry and retired in
2001 after 29 years. Mary , a
city girl turned country girl,
now spends her time taking care
of horses and sewing rag quilts.
Kent began his career in 1977 in
the chemical and oilfield
industry. Kent has worked for
the past 18 years on the North
Slope of Alaska and will be
retiring soon. After retirement,
Kent will be able to spend more
time working and showing the
horses he loves so much.
Kent and Mary have 2 children.
A son, Kyle and his wife
LeeAnne and their two
children, Jonathan and Jacob.
Kyle and LeeAnne live in Kerens
and help on the ranch when
needed. Kent and Mary also have
a daughter, Alesha, who lives in
Kingwood, Texas with her
husband, Shane, and their two
sons, Branden Shane and Grayson
Larand.
